2017 will see the 11th running of our children’s duathlon at Blenheim. In 11 years over 4000 children have enjoyed this multi sport event in the beautiful surroundings of Blenheim Palace. We’re really looking forward to helping you make Blenheim an event for ALL your family.
Online entries are now closed. Bring you child’s bike and helmet and you can enter on the day. On the day entries cost £15. Your child will receive a medal but not a race T Shirt. You’ll find us on the right hand side at the far end of the Competitor’s Village as you enter.
The event aims to give all children a wonderfully positive introduction to multi sport. For more experienced, older children, the longer distances allow us to cater for all abilities. We take great pride in creating a safe and secure, child-friendly event.
Entry costs £20 for 1 child, £36 for 2 siblings and £52.50 for 3 siblings. Race T shirt is included in the entry fee for all children who are entered before the 13 May. You are asked to select T shirt size on the booking form. If you select the wrong size we will happily switch the T shirt but we will not be able to do this before 4pm on Sunday. We are not in a position to send T shirts by post after the event.
All the children are presented with a medal to celebrate their achievement.
How does it work?
We run three children’s races per day so you can plan your day to fit in with adult start times. Because adult race times are announced a few weeks before the event, we will send out a provisional start list on or around the 20 May. You can then change your child(ren)’s time if need be.
Races start at 10.00, 12.30 and 15.00 on both Saturday and Sunday. (Ignore the 09.00 on the booking form below – you’ll be asked to select your time.) Race briefing takes place for all children 15 minutes before the start time. The kids are organised into age groups with the oldest going first followed by the youngest. 9-10 year olds are the last age group to go. It takes about 45 minutes for us to get through all the age group waves.
You can register any time prior to race briefing. We recommend doing so early in the day to avoid a last minute rush.
This event reaches capacity every year. Please do not delay entering while you wait for your (adult) race time. This leads to dissapointment every year. Instead, we recommend securing your child(ren)’s place(s). We will send a provisional start list 2 weeks before the event and there is a 7 day window for you to change your child(ren)’s start time.
Children taking part in this event are exempt from the Palace entry fee (£5 per child). Simply show your entry confirmation email at the gate to show proof of participation. Not available for on the day entries.
