Match Report – 16th March
It was definitely the hardest match we have played so far this season. Highgate Rangers (A). The team played really good football and most of the time we tried to keep up with them. They had an early chance, the opposition striker took a shot from outside the box which hit the post and our defenders reacted very quickly and cleared the ball from the danger zone, however for some reason the referee gave it as a goal. Even though they had more possession we looked very dangerous from the counter-attacks and Daniel had a couple of good shots from outside the box. Soon after that they scored a second goal and became more confident.
MIFC U12′s showed great attitude and Jack made some incredible saves. We kept attacking, Joe received a ball in the box and passed the defender who fouled him in the box but referee’s whistle stayed quiet. We kept playing but the opposition was too strong for us as and they scored three more goals in the second half. Despite the score, we never stopped playing and Daniel chipped the keeper from the centre of the pitch and scored an unbelievable goal. Despite a tough opposition we were disappointed to lose 5-1, it needs to be mentioned that the opposition play in the higher league, they showed good technical ability and physical power which was met by MIFC U 12′s great attitude team work and the idea of never giving up. Unfortunately they won this battle and came out on top. We will take positives from this game and we will try to come back strong next game. Heads up MIFC… WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS
Training Report – 9th March
Today’s session was brilliant, every single player showed a great attitude and put a lot of energy in to it.
We started the session with a nice warm up with a ball and slowly progressed it into a quick one-two passing exercise. I was very pleased with the tempo of passing and moving and progressed it by adding the defenders in the middle. At the beginning we were playing too safe and played easy passes (just passing the player who was standing next) and defenders were closing down easily. I decided to stop the session and to ask a couple of questions to the players, questions such as: How can we make difficult for the defenders to close us down? and one of the answer was to play through balls and make the defenders to cover more ground. Which we did and it shows on a video how it worked.
After that we moved on pressing game as we decided that winning the ball back quickly, high up the pitch, will enable us to score more goals. We worked on pressing high, winning the ball and finishing. It was good to see players using the one-twos from the previous activity within this game – as can be seen in Alfie and Daniel’s brilliant combination in this video.
Very well done mi FC U12′s . Every single session there is a massive improvement and there is no limit to how far you can go guys. Does not matter where we finish in the league, first, second or third, we are already THE CHAMPIONS !!!

The opposition started the game with a high tempo and in the first five minutes we struggled to keep up with them. We defended well though, which boosted our confidence and we started to concentrate on counter-attacking.
As the game progressed, Daniel, Theo and Luke stepped up and we were able to take the game into their half. We created some good chances and won a crucial corner kick. Theo delivered it in to the box, it was a low delivery and Luke met it superbly to score the first and last goal of the game.
After the goal the opposition started to play quick passing and they created some good chances themselves, however both Jack and Cameron were magnificent and were not going to be beaten. Highgate were crossing the midfield line without any problems, so I decided to change the formation from 3-2-1 into 3-3. After the change they could not go through our two wall defense and they started to play long balls, which was in our advantages because our defenders were on top and won every single ball. Well done to all players who played this Saturday, some great performances. I would like to recognise the performance of Jim and Edward, who have both made amazing progress recently.
Keep up the hard work mi FC and looking forward to seeing you on Saturday …
Training Report – 5th January
A happy new year to everyone and what a great start to the year! The session this week started with the u12 & u13 joining up. The session began with a simple passing exercise which progressed to some hold up play where players had to show strength and ball control. This exercise was then progressed into a small-sided game (SSG) on a diamond shape pitch. Players had to implement the last 2 practises within the SSG as well maintain attacking/defensive positions. The session was fun, full of energy and players showed alot of strength within the game. Well done to all boys today was good to see great spirit among both sets of teams.
Always letting them play

Training Report – 8th December
We started training by reviewing last weeks game, reflecting on the positives and negatives and ways to improve and get ready for the up coming week. We started with a warm up, followed by a little game, before working on keeping possession by passing and moving. You can watch a video of that here.
Later on Ola did a shooting session and the whole team worked on finishing, which was the massive problem from the past two games. Even though Cameron was brilliant in the goal, players still managed to have success and scored some brilliant goals. Check out the video of one of Theo’s finishes to see what I mean!
After that I took a couple of the players to work on individual areas of improvement (passing, receiving, quick decision making and communication amongst the players).
We also worked on building attacks from the defenders, we called it going through stages (From defenders to midfielders, and from midfielders to attackers). We finished the session with a little game. Overall it was a good day and I felt that the players achieved today’s targets. Well done mi FC U12′s – let’s come back strong next week!

“Despite the result, it was once again brilliant football from mi FC U12′s and we are proud to be making such an improvement in every training session and every game”
Training Report – 24th November
“Their improvement was brilliant due to their eagerness to learn.”
First of all thanks to everyone who came on Saturday, it was very good turn out which made the session flow and gave us the opportunity to work on many things. We started with a little game just to identify the areas of improvement and what we needed to work most. I decided that 1) passing and moving 2) defending 3) quick decision making all needed some work.
Ola started working on passing and moving and I took a couple of players (as I started working on one to one’s) and worked on defending and communication between the defenders. I worked with a group of defenders and also individually to improve their understanding of what they need to do in different game scenarios. Their improvement was brilliant due to their eagerness to learn. Ola was also pleased with the effort and quality of his group of players.
We then moved back to the match to see how they improved, and we saw great improvement on each aspect. Players passed and moved very well (click here to watch a video of this in action) and their decision making was much quicker than in the first game, players were very compact in defence and covered each other whenever it was necessary. Communication between each other was also superb, especially from Jim who were the heart of defence. At the end we had a little game against U13, and both teams showed good determination, attitude, spirit and respect to each other.
Match Report - 17th November
mi FC 1 Twyford 0
This was undoubtedly the U12′s best performance yet – we were absolutely brilliant from start to finish! When defending, we closed down the space in midfield and forced the opposition to go wide, where we had jack and leo who did not give the opposition any chance to create anything dangerous towards our goal.
We controlled the ball throughout the game and played great football, our passing was very good and we created chance after chance. The scoreline could certainly have been bigger with the chances we had (including two missed penalties!) Joseph was a constant problem for the opposition defenders and he created for himself and for the others some great chances and finally he scored a brilliant goal.
Every single player played their part in an excellent performance. I am really pleased with the team. I also want to say that Ola made some great tactical changes which helped team to achieve a very good result against strong opposition. I want to congratulate the U12′s on the win and I look forward to seeing everyone at training.
Training Report – 10th November
Overall it was a good session. Most of the players had a good attitude and trained well. I was very pleased with Archie, in his first session, who showed really good spirit and dedication. We started working on individual players last session and Dan and Theo worked on ball control under pressure, Joseph and Luke worked on running with the ball and close control on the ball during the run.
As a team we worked on , when we are attacking not to over- commit ourselves and leave the midfield open. As we only had five players we could not do more sessions that i had planned. Can i please ask players to make every effort to come to training sessions.
